How to use homeopathy? Homeopathy Versus Herbology

Understanding the True Power of Homeopathy

We are becoming acutely aware of the need for an effective, non-toxic, deep-acting method of healing.

Sometimes, even a healthy lifestyle and diet may fall short when facing drug-resistant bacteria, viruses, and other pressures of modern life.

But nature offers us all we need, if we only know how to use it.

Is homeopathy used the same way as a tincture, herb, supplement, or even a pill?

Having been part of the natural medicine sector for over a decade, I’ve noticed ongoing confusion around how homeopathy is understood and used.

Homeopathy is a well-known natural healing method, admired for its quick effectiveness in soothing acute pains and for its non-addictive, long-lasting effects on chronic conditions.

Many people are amazed by how quickly homeopathy can relieve fever or teething pain in children. However, they often become confused when it doesn’t seem to work the same way for chronic issues, like migraines, or only eases them temporarily.

To better understand how to use homeopathy effectively, we must first understand three key concepts:

  1. What are we trying to achieve, and what is health?
  2. What is a symptom?
  3. How is homeopathy different from other methods?

Health

Health is a state of freedom, not just from physical pain, but from emotional and mental disturbances, allowing us to fully express our potential.

When we aim to maintain good health, the goal is not merely to suppress pain temporarily, but to bring all dimensions of our being into balance.

Physical pain or psychological distress limit our ability to thrive. Homeopathy’s primary aim is to align our physical, emotional, and mental health harmoniously so we can live our lives more fully.

Symptoms: A Message, Not Just a Problem

In homeopathy, symptoms are seen as the body’s efforts to stabilize and harmonize itself with minimal disruption.

Simply preventing symptoms from appearing is not the same as healing.

Ideally, when the body is supported and its defense system enhanced, symptoms are no longer needed, they disappear naturally.

However, in cases of long-term or inherited conditions, the body may only be able to maintain partial balance by expressing symptoms in less vital areas. This state is known as chronic disease. It cannot resolve itself without external help.

The weaker the body’s defense system becomes, the more serious the symptoms get.

Homeopathy doesn’t just focus on eliminating symptoms. Instead, it aims to work with and strengthen the body’s natural defenses. Each remedy must be carefully tailored to the individual’s current condition.

For example, a symptom like a headache might be treated by over a hundred different homeopathic remedies. We don’t prescribe based on the symptom alone, but on the deeper imbalance that caused it.

How Is Homeopathy Different from Other Methods?

The easiest way to highlight the difference is by comparing homeopathy with herbology.

Homeopathy vs. Herbology

HomeopathyHerbology
What are remedies made of?Remedies are made from natural resources plants, minerals, etc. Which are diluted and potentized through succussion. This leaves behind energetic signatures that affect the body. (As noted by virologist and Nobel laureate Luc Montagnier.)Herbs are used as raw plant material in the form of tinctures or extracts and contain various chemical compounds.
How are remedies selected?A practitioner selects one single remedy after a detailed examination of physical symptoms, personality, emotional state, and life history.Herbs are selected based on physical symptoms, much like in allopathic medicine. Multiple herbs may be used concurrently.
How does dosage affect efficacy?Less is more. The more diluted a remedy, the more potent it becomes. A single dose may last for months. Only one remedy is used at a time.Higher doses lead to stronger effects. Multiple herbs (often 10 or more) may be taken simultaneously over a longer period.

A Subtle but Deep-Acting Method

As you can see, homeopathic remedies differ significantly from herbal remedies, supplements, or pills.

They work more subtly and deeply, affecting not just the body, but the emotional and mental layers of a person. They can unblock emotional stagnation, enhance resilience, and support recovery from trauma or stress.

Because of their depth, homeopathic remedies require more refined methods of use. They are not meant to suppress symptoms like conventional treatments often do.

The Effects of a Plant: Herbal vs. Homeopathic

When a plant is prepared as a herbal tincture or supplement, it primarily has biochemical effects.

Herbs are wonderful tools and can often replace synthetic substances when used wisely.

But once that same plant is diluted and potentized through succussion, it becomes a homeopathic remedy with far broader actions.

For example, Berberis is a plant commonly used in herbal medicine for urinary tract infections (UTIs). As a homeopathic remedy, it can still help with UTIs, but it also influences the kidneys, liver, and can support conditions like gout, dizziness, and gallstone pain.

Another example is table salt, yes, simple table salt.

We can eat large quantities of salt without experiencing healing effects. In fact, it might just make us thirsty or cause digestive discomfort.

However, once transformed into the homeopathic remedy Natrum muriaticum, table salt becomes a powerful agent used to treat migraines, seasonal allergies, and even deep grief.

Many people who were stuck in long-term mourning, perhaps from the loss of a loved one, have reported feeling a renewed capacity to move forward after receiving this remedy.

Consider This

Homeopathy is fundamentally different from other natural treatments. It’s based on the principle that “like cures like.” This contrasts with conventional thinking, where treatments are chosen to have an opposite effect (e.g., warming herbs for a cold constitution).

Contrary to the “more is better” approach in conventional medicine, homeopathy believes that the more diluted a substance, the more powerful it becomes, and the less frequently it needs to be taken.

In fact, overusing a remedy can slow healing rather than enhance it.

So, with a deeper understanding of homeopathy, we realize it cannot be used the same way as a herb, supplement, or over-the-counter pill.

A Personalized and Holistic Approach

My hope with this article is to show that there is no “one-disease-fits-all” pill.

Going to the pharmacy and buying a remedy for chronic conditions like migraines is not recommended. This may only suppress the symptoms and interfere with the body’s efforts to maintain balance.

With the right training, homeopathic remedies can be effectively used for first-aid situations and acute conditions, such as fever, inflammation, etc.

But identifying the root of a chronic condition is more complex. It requires a much deeper understanding and training.

Homeopathy changes how we view symptoms and health itself.

We’re not merely silencing symptoms, we’re helping the body achieve a higher, more sustainable state of balance and well-being.

This method requires a solid understanding of the philosophy behind it. One should not rely on simplified charts or remedies without a grasp of the deeper logic that guides classical homeopathy.

In classical homeopathy, health is understod holistically, not just the absence of symptoms. We look at a person’s energy level, mood, motivation, and overall vitality.

Our goal is to elevate every aspect of a person’s quality of life.
